KARACHI, June 4: Ninety four people were deprived of their cars, motorbikes or cellular phones in various localities on Monday. Thirteen vehicles, including four cars and nine motorcycles, were snatched at gunpoint while 19 vehicles – four cars and six motorcycles – were stolen in various parts of the city.

Thirty four people complained that bandits snatched cash, cellular phones and their belongings at gunpoint in different areas. Twenty eight others told police that their mobile phones got stolen.

KILLED: A young boy died when a stray bullet hit him in Liaquatabad on Monday morning.

Resident of Moosa Colony, Faizan, 18, left home for work early in the morning. By bus, he reached Liaquatabad. As he alighted from the bus, a stray bullet hit him and he fell to the ground.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police could not find any clue to the culprits.

The bullet-riddled body of an unidentified woman was found on a road in Surjani Town. Police shifted the body to hospital for autopsy.

They suspected the woman might have been kidnapped before being shot dead. The police were looking for her family members before initiating proper investigation.

ACCIDENT: Two labourers died as a container fell on them in the Karachi Port on Monday.

Police said the rope from which an iron container was tied broke and the container fell on the labourers Mohammad Yusuf, 50, and Mohammad Zaib, 40, killing them on the spot. The bodies were later shifted to hospital for autopsy.
