MITHI, June 3: Expressing concern over meagre amount of pension, the local pensioners have appealed to the government to take cognisance of their plight and announce at least 30 per cent increase in pension in the ensuing budget.

These views were expressed by a number of pensioners while talking to Dawn on Sunday.

They said that as the prices of items of daily use had gone too high, they were finding it too difficult to make both ends meet through the paltry amount of pension.

POST OFFICE: Deploring the functioning of a post office at the district headquarter town Mithi in a rented building over the past few decades, the people of Tharparkar have urged the high-ups of postal services to get constructed a government building for it.
