Lintel collapse leaves one dead

GUJRANWALA, May 31: A villager was killed while another 20 were injured when the lintel of an under-construction mosque collapsed on them in Kot Ladha village on Thursday.

Reports said that villagers were busy constructing Jamia Masjid Siddiqia on a self-help basis when the scaffolding fell on them. The area people pulled the injured out of the rubble. Nazir was recovered dead while 20 injured were rushed to the local DHQ Hospital where their condition was stated to be serious. Those injured included Zulfikar Ahmad, Usman, Afzal, Irfan Ahmad, Saleem, Rizwan Ahmad, Amjad, Bashir Ahmad, Shan, Arshad, Muzaffar, Abu Baker, Zafer and Maqsood.
