GUJRANWALA, March 1: The local deputy district officer (education) on Friday suspended all the invigilators on the charge of helping students copy in mathematics paper at the elementary examination centre, Naushera Virkan.

Reports said the DDO set up an examination centre at the Government Elementary School, Maju Chak of Naushera Virkan, for the annual examination of primary where the superintendent and his staff were inducted.

DDO Muhammad Akhtar Qureshi paid surprise visit to the centre and found staff assisting the candidates. He removed the staff and inducted a new one.

He issued the show-cause notice to the suspended staff and announced that students who were found using unfair means would be taken to task.

Meanwhile, five students of Nizamabad were caught red-handed by a raiding team when they were using unfair means during primary annual examination at the Government Elementary School in Nizamabad the same day.

LOOTED: Dacoits on Friday looted cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and drove away with two motorbikes in four strikes in and around the district.

Details gleaned by this correspondent revealed five dacoits barged into Muhammad Amin’s house in Qila Deedar Singh, held up the inmates and fled with Rs20,000 in cash and 12 tolas of gold ornaments.

Three robbers took away Rs10,000 in cash, jewellery and electronic goods from Imran’s house in Baghbanpura after tying the inmates.

One Hashmat Khan of Dera Maan Singh was deprived by two bandits of his motorcycle (GAH-3802) on Hafizabad Road when he was on his way to Qila Deedar Singh.

Meanwhile, Khalid Javed of Mehar Wazir locality was deprived by two bandits of his motorcycle (GAM-9458) when he was on his way back home.
