OKARA, March 1: There is an absolute chaos at the local Government Islamia High School after the collapse of verandah roof on Feb 13 when some students sustained minor injuries.

Okara District Coordination Officer Khalid Masood and other officials of the Auqaf’s building department visited the school and declared nine rooms dangerous.

At present, the students have to attend their classes in the open. With house examinations just days away, the school administration has no space to room at least 2,000 students as the secondary education board has already booked the hall, main verandah and three rooms.

The school council has urged the DCO and tehsil Nazim Nadeem Abbas to provide the students with the vacant old vegetable market plot adjacent to the school till the renovation. — Correspondent
