KASUR, May 22: Police on Tuesday claimed to have killed an alleged ringleader of a crime gang during an encounter near Pattoki, while three of his accomplices managed their escape.

According to the police, Gulzar alias Gulo, wanted in more than 38 cases of heinous crime including murder had been running a gang of outlaws.

They said on a tip-off a police party, headed by Pattoki DSP Khalid Mahmood khan, raided Thata Kamiana graveyard where Gulzar was hiding along with his three accomplices.

Police claimed that on seeing the raiding team, the outlaws opened indiscriminate fire, which was retaliated. Later, the criminals retreated to the river area on their horses.

Police chased the outlaws and after a brief encounter shot dead Gulzar, recovering illicit weapons.

ARRESTED: Saddar police have arrested a man who allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl.

Reports said a brick kiln worker, Ghulam Ali’s daughter Amna was alone in the house on Sunday, when one Anwar Masih allegedly raped her and escaped leaving the victim in critical condition.

DACOITY: Three bandits deprived a man of his motorcycle, cash and cell phone at Changa Manga.
