TAXILA, May 22: Tehsil Nazim Mohammad Sadeeq Khan has said that a tax-free budget would be presented for the fiscal year 2007-08 next month.

Talking to the media here on Tuesday, he assured that no new tax would be imposed on the residents of Taxila. He said a major part of the budget would be allocated for the development sector.

While recalling the budget presented last year, he said that of the total Rs1.07 billion tehsil budget, Rs61.02 million was reserved for development projects whereas Rs46.815 million was reserved for non-development expenditures.

For chalking out uplift projects in the tehsil, he said, Rs26.475 million were allocated out of the development budget under the annual development programme while a sum of Rs8.825 million was allocated for chalking out various development schemes under the citizen community boards. He said that Rs1.50 million was allocated for various maintenance works in the area.
