Payment deal awarded to HSBC

KARACHI, May 22: Metro Cash and Carry Pakistan (Private) Limited has mandated HSBC Pakistan for its international and domestic payments, overdraft, and working capital facility, says a press release.

Mohammad Tahir Sadiq, CEO HSBC Pakistan, said: “We are Metro’s preferred partner in debt capital market activities and are increasingly doing business in all areas and locations as our global network matches Metro’s internationalisation strategy.”

Metro Cash & Carry is a self-service wholesale chain currently constructing its first wholesale centre in Pakistan on Multan Road, Lahore, which is due to open in October 2007.

On the occasion of the mandate award, Mr. Hans A. Hiller – MD, Metro Cash & Carry Pakistan, said he looked forward to his company’s collaboration with the HSBC, and the bank would be a key partner in providing quality services not only to his company, but also to his customers.
