KARACHI: PTCL cuts charges

Published March 1, 2002

KARACHI, Feb 28: Pakistan Telecommunication Company has reduced installation charges for Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Access (PRA) and Basic Access (BRA).

With this reduction upfront cost to IT companies would be reduced significantly.

The ISDN Basic Rate Access provides two lines one pair having data speed of 64kbh. It multiplies the capacity of the cable system to facilitate two telephones, one for voice and one for Internet.

The BRA can also be used for videophone either using special telephone sets or with PCs having relevant software.

Similarly charges for shifting of ISDN BRA and PRA have been reduced.

The service is generally available in multi-exchange areas of bigger cities like Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Peshawar etc.—APP
