KARACHI, May 15: The polling date for the elections of university teachers to Karachi University Senate scheduled for May 17 has been postponed.

This was announced on Tuesday by the Registrar of Karachi University, Prof Muhammad Rais Alvi, who is also the Returning Officer.

The fresh date for the polling would be notified later, he further announced.

Meanwhile, the plaque unveiling ceremony of the Institute of Sustainable Halophyte Utilisation would be held at Karachi University on May 16, said the KU spokesman on Tuesday.

He said that Vice-Chancellor of Karachi University Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui would be the chief guest on the occasion.

Halophyte has been described as a plant that grows in saline soil. —APP
