Capital market recovers

KARACHI, May 14: The local capital market that started the day negative, gradually recovered by the close of business moving from 12377.05 in early trading to 12343.68 at a loss of 23.94 on benchmark KSE-100 index here on Monday.

KSE-30 closed 55.69 points lower to 15307.69 and All Shares Index diluted by 13.22 points to 8681.12. The exchange traded 461.661 million shares worth Rs31.451 billion, bringing gains to scrips of 144 companies, losses to 129 while 38 managed to close at their opening rates.

Among the volume giants, Fauji Fert Bin made paisa 90 at 37.25, Bank Al Fateh got Rs1.40 at 56.80, OGDC lost paisa 80 at 118.05, Engro Chemical pocketed Rs9.70 at 220.50, DGKC shed Rs1.85 at 99.15, BOP rose by paisa 5 at 105.05, JS Bank up by Re 1 at 15.35 and Nishat Mills lost Rs1.95 at 127.05. —APP
