LAHORE, May 10: Chairman Senate Mohammadmian Soomro, has assured Senator Enver Baig that he would talk to the patron PCB, Gen. Pervez Musharraf in order to restore constitution in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Senator Baig, who staged a token hunger strike in Islamabad on Wednesday against eight-year long ad hocism in the PCB told Dawn.

"The chairman Senate sent a three-member delegation to me asking me to end the strike with assurance that he (Soomro) will talk to the President of Pakistan," Senator said.

"I believe Mr Soomro will do his best for the restoration of the constitution in the PCB and if there will be no result I will sit for a longer strike," he said.

He also asked for the accountability of those who remained at the helm of affairs during eight years and demanded immediate sacking of Dr Nasim Ashraf. During the last eight-year, Pakistan failed to qualify for the second round of the last two World Cups.
