KARACHI, May 6: A splendid all-round performance by Imran Javed inspired Pakistan CC to claim the PCB National Inter-club Championship with a 32-run defeat of Khizra Sports in the final at the National Stadium here on Saturday.

Batting first, Pakistan CC hit up 265 for nine in their 50 overs. The highlights being the batting of Daniyal Ahsan (76 with four fours) and Imran Javed (65 with 11 boundaries), who together added 124 for the fourth-wicket.

Off-spinner Mansoor Khan and leg-spinner Abdul Qadir shared the bowling honours with three wickets apiece.

In reply, Khizra Sports were dismissed for 233 in 49.1 overs. Sharjeel Ashraf was their top scorer with 85 that included a brace of fours and no less than seven sixes.

Tariq Haroon also batted well to strike 74 with the aid of six fours and two sixes while adding 135 for the sixth-wicket with Sharjeel.

Imran, who was later declared the Man-of-the-Match, once again excelled as he captured three for 26 with his brisk medium-pacers. Fellow paceman Faraz Ahmed Khan took three for 36 and off-spinner Tabish Nawab chipped in with two for 41.
