Woman throws baby into stream

MARDAN, May 3: An eighteen-month baby was killed when an unidentified woman threw her into a stream on Thursday.

Some people present there tried to rescue the baby but by that time she had died.

The woman managed to get away from the place.

Also on Thursday, someone gunned down a young boy of Bicketgunj, identified as Mir Wali, near the police lines Mardan, in broad daylight.

Relatives of the victim said that they had no enmity with anyone and, therefore, did not charge anyone in the case.

The police lodged an FIR against unidentified accused.

In another incident near Saddar police station three persons shot dead a local of Mirwas Deri, identified as Imtiaz, near his residence.

The killing followed a quarrel between the victim and the accused some three days back. Police have arrested one person, Alamzeb, in the case.

In another incident, one Awais, of Garhi Ismailzai was gunned down by his neighbour.

The cause of the killing could not be ascertained. Police have lodged an FIR in the incident.
