MIRPURKHAS, Feb 27: At least 35 narcotic pedlars were rounded up in a crackdown by the police here on Tuesday night.

The police have conducted raids at different places and held 35 narcotic pedlars. They were kept in the lock-ups at different police stations.

FIR: The District Coordination Officer of Mirpurkhas, Mir Hussain Ali, has ordered the Mukhtiarkar of Mirpurkhas to get registered an FIR under the relevant law against Haji Suleman and others found guilty in an inquiry against him.

Report said that Comrade Abdul Majeed had submitted an application to the DCO in which he claimed that Haji Suleman along with his partners had purchased 16 acres of agriculture land in Deh 108, Mirpurkhas Taluka, and developed a housing scheme namely Gulshan-i-Haider.

However, he said that he did not get an NOC for converting the agriculture land into residential.

POLICE FAIL: A man, Abdul Ghaffar Arain, has said that Dilbar Mehar police have failed to arrest the accused who had allegedly kidnapped his brother and looted his poultry farm.

This he said while talking to newsmen on Wednesday here at a local press club.

He said that on Feb 18, accused Irfan Anjum alias Gudi, Imran, a wireless operator at police line Mirpurkhas, and five other unknown armed men came to his poultry farm in a Datsun pickup, beat up his brother, Abdul Majeed Arain, and kidnapped him. They also took away 2000 poultry chicken, he added.

Later Abdul Majeed was released by the accused.

He further said that Dilbar Mehar police lodged an FIR of the incident, but regretted that despite the directives of DPO Mirpurkhas for immediate arrest of the accused, the police did not do any thing.

He demanded of the IG police Sindh, AIG Hyderabad range and DPO Mirpurkhas to ensure immediate arrest of the accused.
