SHEIKHUPURA, April 30: Three robbers shot dead a shopkeeper and decamped with Rs1 million in cash, 13 mobile phones and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in a broad daylight robbery on Monday.

The robbers came to a mobile phones shop in Jia Musa locality in the jurisdiction of Shahdara police. They held the shop owner and customers at gunpoint and collected cash and valuables. When they were fleeing shopkeeper Aslam put up resistance and the robbers shot him dead.

Later, the traders in the area protested against the incident and threatened to close down their business due to growing lawlessness.

FOUR INJURED: Four teenagers Sajid, Shahid, Naeem and Naveed sustained bullet injuries in Nizampura locality in the jurisdiction of Ferozewala police in firing on the occasion of a wedding on Monday.

CJP: The Chief Justice of Pakistan will be accorded warm welcome on May 5 when he will pass from Muridke and Ferozewala.

In this connection, a PML-N meeting was held on Monday to review arrangements. The meeting was presided over by former MNA and parliamentary secretary Rana Tanvir.

It was decided that the ARD component parties’ officials would bring the CJP in a procession from Muridke to Ferozewala. The CJP would address the bar in Ferozewala before proceeding to Lahore.
