BADIN, April 30: The growers took out a rally against the Zarai Taraqqiati Bank, Talhar, which auctioned certain lands to recover outstanding loans.

Led by MMA leader Moulana Abdul Sattar Chawro, Fateh Mohammad Mehri, Shah Nawaz Siyal, a large number of the growers marched from the Allahwala Chowk and reached at Shah Latif road.

Raising slogans against the bank officials, they staged a sit-in at Badin-Karachi road on Sunday for over two hours.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that the government had already declared Badin as calamity-hit area, but the government waived loans of the growers of Thatta district and neglected Badin.

They demanded waiver of loans, suspension of loan recovery drive launched by the ZTBL and withdrawal of auction of growers’ properties.
