TANK, April 29: Suspected militants shot dead two people after accusing them of being US spies, an official of the Political Administration told Dawn on Sunday on condition of anonymity.

The personnel of the Khasadar force recovered bodies of the victims near the Khargi checkpoint in the Tank Frontier Region, the official said.

“They were spying for Americans. They were involved in fake currency business and were enemies of 160 million people,” a note found with the bodies said.

The pair were shot in the head and one also had knife cuts on his throat, the official said.

The victims have been identified as Lal Qiyaz Khan Khattak, a resident of Takht-i-Nasrati Tehsil of the Karak District, and Bakhtiar Khan, a resident of Galoti, Dera Ismail Khan.
