HARIPUR, April 27: The strike of patwaris of district Haripur continued for the fourth consecutive day on Friday against the manhandling of a halqa patwari.
The city police quoted Abdul Khaliq, the halqa patwari of the Sera-e-Saleh village, as saying that he was busy with his office work when Inspector Ahmed Nawaz Khan came and forced him to ensure the possession of a piece of land in his name.
When he refused to do so, the inspector, his brother and son beat him up. The patwaris as a mark of solidarity with their colleague went on a pen-down strike for an indefinite period.
