GUJRANWALA, April 25: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) (passport cell), Gujranwala, arrested all those 28 people from the Islamabad airport who were deported from Turkey and brought them here on Wednesday.
FIA additional director Hussain Asghar said that deportees, hailing from the Gujranwala division, were arrested by the Turkish border security. After being detained in different jails there they were deported finally to Pakistan.
He said the agency would interrogate them about their agents after getting their physical remand from a court of law.
Meanwhile, an FIA’s investigating team quizzed top-ten human agent Javed Amra who was arrested from Mandi Bahauddin a few days back. The accused was wanted in 41 cases of human smuggling and his name was entered in the red book.
Agency’s assistant director Aqeel Qureshi said that the investigating team, comprising inspector Mian Sabir and Ajmal Sundho, quizzed him.
He said that accused’s brother Arshad Amra, still at large, was also wanted in 14 cases of human trafficking.
ACQUITTED: A minor boy, who was arrested by Naushera Virkan police in a goat theft case some one year ago, was acquitted by a local court on Wednesday.
Reports said that complainant Muhammad Ali had got registered an FIR against Abdul Wahid (11). The court acquitted the boy when the prosecution failed to prove the charge against him.
NOTICES: Over 30 owners of commercial plazas and housing schemes were issued show-cause notices for carrying out construction work without getting NOCs from the environment protection department here on Wednesday.
A senior officer of the department concerned said that these notices were served on them under section 12 of the Pakistan Environment Protection Act 1997.
