KARACHI, April 25: Brisk berthing activity was observed at the port where six ships to load and offload containers, rice, edible oil and iron ore were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying crude oil and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. A total of nine ships, Xiang Wan, Nedlloyed Oceana, Sibi, Pessada, Golden Fareast, Comini, Pegasus-7, Frontier Express and Capt. George-I, were busy in loading unloading containers, rice, canola seeds, edible oil, diesel oil and iron ore.

A record volume of 0.107m tons comprising 0.083m tons of import and 0.024m tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Maersk Darmstadt, Frontier Express and Golden Fareast left the port while Nedlloyed Oceana and Xiang Wan were due to depart.
