PESHAWAR, April 24: A children’s rights body observing the Global Action Week for Education has pointed out that the NWFP is a long way off from achieving the Education for All goals. Gender disparity is the main hurdle.
The Global Action Week (April 23-29) for Education is a unique endeavour aimed at influencing policies through collaborative action, said a press release issued on Tuesday by the Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child. There are 22,183 government primary schools in the NWFP, of which 14,600 are for boys and 7,583 for girls, said the handout.
