Hasan, Suleman hit centuries

KARACHI, April 23: Centuries by skipper Hasan Raza and Suleman Qadir helped Habib Bank pile up 498 for eight in their second innings against NWFP-Balochistan on the third day of the Pentangular Cup match at the NBP Sports Complex here on Monday.

Hasan celebrated his call-up for the national camp with a punishing 188 – his 30th first-class century in 145 matches – while Suleman, son of leg-spin legend Abdul Qadir, brought up his first hundred at this level by making 125.

Hasan, who blasted 17 fours and two sixes in his 236-ball knock, and Suleman (10 fours and two sixes) added 237 for the fifth-wicket after Habib Bank resumed at 117 for two.

The bankers, who have already secured the title, batted all day to extend their overall lead to 577 runs.
