QUETTA, April 22: Three children died in an explosion in Khad Kocha area of the Mastung district, some 75 kilometres south-east of here, on Sunday.

Police sources said two motorcyclists hurled an explosive device into the house of one Habibullah Lehri. It exploded killing his 12-year-old daughter Shakara and two sons Imdadullah, 5, and Nasibullah, 2.

Sources said that Habibullah used to work in the fields of Shahwani tribe in the area. Few days back a dispute with the landlords resulted into clashes between Lehri and Shahwani tribes. Some Shahwani tribesmen were injured and police arrested two persons of the Lehri tribe.

The sources said that after the Sunday’s incident Habibullah lodged a report with the police and accused some tribesmen of his rival group of killing his three children.

No arrest was made till the last report. However, the local administration had deployed personnel of police and Balochistan Constabulary to avert further clashes.

“We are making all out efforts to arrest people nominated in the FIR,” District Police Officer Hamid Shakeel said.

BLASTS: Some 400 telephone lines got disconnected in Kalat towhsip when saboteurs blew up a telephone cabinet on Sunday night.

Police said an impoverished device went off under the telephone cabinet near the main gate of the PTCL exchange.
