Law officer resigns

LAHORE, April 20: Deputy District Public Prosecutor General Syed Naveed Abbas on Friday reportedly tendered his resignation what a source termed due to the ongoing judicial crisis.

A critical reaction of his community against his participation in the government-backed ‘lawyers convention’ on March 14 was the main reason behind his resignation, the source said.

The Lahore Bar Association had also served a notice on him for cancellation of his membership. Syed Naveed Abbas was appointed before the judicial crisis in January. He was not available for a comment.
