Darra Adam Khel situation reviewed

KOHAT, April 20: A meeting on Friday discussed progress on development projects and the law and order situation in Darra Adam Khel.

The meeting decided to utilise the Rs120 million grant for the Frontier Region to provide water and improve facilities in sectors of health and education in the area. These targets, it was decided, would be met by 2008.

The District Coordination Officer Kohat, Syed Shahab Shah, chaired the meeting that was also attended by the Member National Assembly, Dr Naseemur Rehman, Assistant Political Agent Tariq Baloch and other officers, a press release said.

The DCO and MNA discussed the deteriorating law and order situation in Darra Adam Khel keeping in view the recent murder of Subedar Major Iran Gul, the attacks on video shops and the threats issued to girls’ schools by Taliban in the region.

The meeting also decided to launch an operation against the anti-social elements and proclaimed offenders to restore the confidence of people in the government.
