Foreign student, local robbers

Published April 19, 2007

FAISALABAD, April 18: A foreign student of the Punjab Medical College was deprived of his cash and valuables by unidentified outlaws on Tuesday night when he was in his hostel room.

Reports said the masked robbers entered the room of Abdullah, an Ethiopian national, residing in Ibne Seena hostel, and held him at gunpoint.

The robbers tied up the student with a rope, collected his valuables and cash, and fled away.

Following the incident, college students held a meeting with the principal and requested him to take action against those responsible for the hostel security.

No case had so far been registered. A student body, Muttahida Tulaba Mohaz, has threatened to boycott classes and stage a protest demonstration if the culprits were not nabbed within 24 hours.
