Aisam and Junaid grab Aviation Cup

LAHORE, April 15: Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and Australian Rameez Junaid, a Pakistani by origin, defeated second seeded pair of Dutch Van Der Duim and Canadian Pierre Ludvic Duclos to win the Aviation Cup International Tennis Championship in United Arab Emirates.

It was back-to-back victory of the pair in UAE, as they had also won the Dubai Duty Free Cup last week.

In the final, they completely outclassed and out performed their opponents with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-3.

On their way to the title, Aisam and Junaid did not drop even a set. They beat the German pair of Petzschner-Ebrahimzadeh in the semi-final 6-0, 6-2 and in the previous rounds they defeated Slovakian pair of Hromec and Horecny 6-3, 6-3 and Iranian/Lebanese pair of Mohazebnia and Alayli 6-2, 6-0.

In the singles event Aisam came back strongly to beat the Moroccan Davis Cupper Talal Ouahabi after a three hour long marathon match with a score of 6-3, 6-7, 6-4 in the quarter-final.
