KARACHI, April 15: The National Canoeing Championship which was to commence at the National Sailing Centre from Monday under the aegis of Sindh Canoeing Association (SCA) has been cancelled.

“The cancellation occurred in the backdrop of a scuffle which broke out between players of Punjab and Railways on the concluding day of National Games canoe event the other day,” secretary SCA, Syed Mahfoozul Haq announced on Sunday.

According to him, Railway canoeist M. Shan received eight stitches under his right eye following a scuffle over a petty issue.

The next date of the championship will be announced later.
