Army beat Navy in shooting

KARACHI, April 14: Army sharp shooters made a clean-sweep of all the four gold medals at stake on the final day to dethrone Pakistan in National Games Shooting Championship which concluded at Naval Shooting Range on Saturday.

International Mustaqeem Shah and Afsar Khan - both from Army - picked up gold and silver respectively in Centre Fire Pistol and also pocketed the team gold.

Soldiers made the clean sweep of gold, silver and bronze medals in double trap individual and team competition to finish at the top. Captain Junaid with superb performance captured the double trap gold.

Navy shooters, who emerged on the top in the last National Games in Quetta failed to defend their crown. Army accumulated 876 points for the top slots with 14 golds, 18 silver and seven bronze. Navy took runners-up position with 856 points.— APP
