GUJRANWALA, April 12: An FIA and State Bank of Pakistan started crackdown on illegal currency changers and arrested a man from Sarai Alamgir with foreign currency and other documents on Thursday. It is learnt that State Bank assistant director told an FIA deputy director about illegal transfer of money through hundi. A joint team raided Swera Traders and arrested Nasir Shahzad who failed to show license to do currency exchange business. The raiding party arrested him and recovered US dollars, pounds, riyals, Euros, Kuwaiti dinars and Pakistani currency from his possession.
A case was registered against him and further investigation was underway.
