HYDERABAD, April 11: Noted scholar and vice-chancellor of Isra University Dr Asadullah Kazi on Wednesday paid tribute to Allama I. I. Kazi and said he a great educator and scholar.

Delivering lecture on “science and technology in the light of education” at Hi-Tech Central Research Laboratory jointly organised by the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Pharmacy in connection with Sindh University’s Founder's Week Dr Kazi said that Allama Saheb often used to say that to grasp the meaning of a subject under study one should find out the roots of the words forming the topic of discourse.

He said that the Holy Quran defined education as light and said that the light of education brought men out of darkness into the light. Allama I. I. Kazi always used to say that educated people had many responsibilities that they owed to society.

Dr Kazi lamented that the so-called educated class, instead of teaching others was becoming a liability to the nation.

Dr Jan Mohammad Memon said that it was the vision of Allama I. I. Kazi to support medical education and he helped in the establishment of medical college in Jamshoro.
