Gang of kidnappers held

ABBOTTABAD, April 11: Havelian police on Wednesday arrested four members of a gang involved in the kidnapping and killing of people after snatching cash and other valuables from them.

A police party headed by Havelian police officer Shamreez Khan arrested Jandad, son of Hakeem Khan; Gul Saran Khan, son of Mota Khan; Imran, son of Bakht Zaman; and Asad, son of Mir Muhammad, when they were trying to hide in Banda Sahib Khan area after kidnapping Abid Tanoli from a bus stop on the G.T. Road.

Police seized two pistols, one rope and black masks. According to an initial investigation, the gang members used to snatch valuables and kidnap people for ransom.

The members used to kill the people who put up any resistance during their robbery or kidnapping bid, according to police.
