ISLAMABAD, April 11: The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) has completed preparations to participate in ‘GITEX Saudi Arabia’, the third largest IT exhibition of the world, being held in Riyadh from April 15-19.

The board will set up a country pavilion to display the skills and soaring potential of Pakistan IT industry in the expo, which will provide opportunities to explore the Middle East market.

“PSEB is sponsoring eight of its member IT companies to participate in GITEX 2007,” an official from the PSEB Marketing Department told Dawn here on Wednesday.

This year’s GITEX would be Saudi Arabia’s sixth international IT exhibition, he said, adding “Saudi Arabia accounts for 40 per cent of all computer and IT application sales in the region’s $5 billion IT market.”

The exhibitors would enjoy access to the expanding Saudi IT market and other regional IT powerhouses. The participants would also attend a variety of workshops and conferences involving leading IT professionals, the official said.
