11 killed in accident

SUKKUR, Feb 25: Ten Hindu Yatris and a truck cleaner were killed and twelve others injured in an accident on the Indus Highway, near the village Sitara Buxapur, Jacobabad District, on Monday.

The Yatris, the majority of whom were from Kandhkot, went to Reharki for pilgrimage. While they were returning from there in a wagon (RO-812), it rammed into a stationary truck (QDA-27310) as a result of which it overturned and fell into a ditch killing seven on the spot while four succumbed to their injuries at the Kandhkot hospital.

Hospital sources said among those killed five belonged to the same family.

Those killed were identified as Bal Chand, Akash Mal, Supra, Shafa Das Bai, Asha Kumar, Omesh Kumar, Bublee Mal, Amri Mal Bai, Vicky Kumar, Piyari and Khan Muhammad, the cleaner of the truck.
