KARACHI, April 9: Three ships scheduled to load and offload containers and cement were accommodated berths at QICT and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, furnace oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 80pc as eight ships, Bgadad, ACX Tsubaki, Lion, Princess, Berenice, Aleslevada, Jipro Dream, Al-Salam-II and Carl Masem, were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, cement, seeds, edible oil, diesel oil and coke.

A cargo volume of 51,668 tons comprising 38,868 tons of import and 12,800 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were brisk as ACX Tsubaki, Germany, CMA CGM Aegean, Lion Princess, Jipro Dream and Al-Salam-II left the port while Bgadad was due to depart.
