RAHIM YAR KHAN, April 7: Rail traffic between Karachi and various upcountry destinations was suspended when a wagon of an oil train derailed between Jetha Bhatta and Feroza railway stations near Khanpur, 5kms from here, on Saturday evening. According to reports, the derailment caused traffic suspension on both up and down tracks.

The Multan-bound Shahrukn-i-alam Express and Peshawar bound Awam express were halted at the Khanpur railway station for almost four hours.

After the restoration of uptrack at 11pm, Shahrukn-i-Alam left the Khanpur railway station at 11.15 pm and Awam express at 12 midnight.

All the Karachi-bound trains were halted at Liaqatpur and Dera Nawab railway stations.

No railway official was available at Khanpur to giver their side of the story.
