KRL in sight of victory

KARACHI, April 5: Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) were heading for victory against NWFP-Balochistan in the Pentangular Cup after taking a massive first-innings lead of 300 at the UBL Sports Complex here on Thursday.

The combined regional side was 133 for three in the second innings at close of play on the penultimate day of the four-day fixture. Yasir Hameed made 65 with eight boundaries.

Earlier KRL skipper Mohammad Wasim struck an unbeaten 108 before closing his team’s innings at 521 for seven. The former Test right-hander hit 11 boundaries during his 167-ball knock.

Saeed bin Nasir, who resumed at 101, was bowled by slow left-armer Dilawar Khan for 142. His 284-ball innings lasted 341 minutes and included 17 fours and two sixes.
