OKARA, April 5: Over 1,300 constables and head-constables have been awaiting their interview results for the last eight months to get promotion as ASI while 400 private candidates have been given appointments.

Reports said that joint applications for the appointment of ASIs from among constables and head-constables of eight police ranges in Punjab and private candidates had been advertised in newspapers some 15 months back. After seven months, private candidates were given appointments following interviews. Over 1,300 constables and head-constables have not been promoted as ASI despite the fact that they appeared in interviews some eight months back.

These candidates have called upon high-ups of the police department to declare their interview results immediately. — Correspondent
