KARACHI, April 4: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is indulging in politics of non-issues which is hampering the business of legislation in the assembly. He pointed out that when the PPP was in power during 1988 and 1997 they had never moved any resolution in the assemblies for Zulfikar Bhutto nor Benazir herself had opened the case of Bhutto.

The chief minister, who was addressing a press conference in his assembly chamber during recess of the session on Wednesday for Zuhr prayers, pointed out that till yesterday Benazir Bhutto used to call the court kangaroo courts and even today the PPP was targeting the courts. There was no unity in the ranks of the opposition and this was seen in the processions taken out in Islamabad on Tuesday where PPP, PML Nawaz League and MMA had taken out separate rallies.

The chief minister pointed out that today the PPP had presented a resolution for offering Fateha for Zulfikar Bhutto while they should have been in Larkana today to attend his death anniversary. He said today Nisar Khuhro was remembering Bhutto while he had distributed sweets on his hanging.

The chief minister said that the PPP during its government did not allow freedom to G.M. Syed till his death nor Ali Muhammad Hingoro until who died in prison while this government had allowed Abdullah Shah to return to Pakistan.

He said the PPP instead of holding meetings should prepare for elections which were going to be held after seven or eight months.

In reply to a question the chief minister said that he had joined the PPP in 1993 not for the love of Bhuttos but for political differences with Nawaz Sharif. He termed his experience in PPP bitter.
