KARACHI, April 3: Fine centuries by Imran Farhat and Hasan Raza helped Habib Bank pile up 387 for three in their first innings against Punjab on the opening day of the four-day Pentangular Cup match at the National Stadium here on Tuesday.

Imran, the left-handed Test opener, hammered 20 fours and a brace of sixes in scoring an unbeaten 171 off 285 balls. Test discard Hasan stroked 15 fours and two sixes in a 156-ball 123 after Punjab skipper Kamran Akmal elected to field first after winning the toss.

After Taufiq Umar (34) and Khaqan Arsal (16) departed with the total on 107, the Punjab bowlers wilted as Imran and Hasan added 241 for the third wicket in 221 minutes.

Shahid Afridi, the Habib Bank skipper, is batting on 26.
