Published April 1, 2007

LAHORE, March 31: The Punjab PML-N working committee decided on Saturday to extend full support to the lawyers in their April 3 protest in Islamabad.

At a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sirdar Zulfiqar Khosa, the participants also demanded reinstatement of Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as the chief justice.

According to secretary-general Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, addressing the meeting Mian Nawaz Sharif directed on Saturday not to be afraid of anybody’s military uniform as it could not cause any harm to anyone.

The exiled former prime minister said he was standing by his principled stand and would not change it, no matter what the situation.

He said the unity of the country was put at stake by dictatorship.
