NOWSHERA, March 31: A woman was killed and her five children were injured when the roof of a room in their house collapsed in Rehman Baba Colony here on Saturday morning, residents said.

The family was living in a rented house. The woman — Nagina, wife of Malik Jan — and the children were sleeping in the room when the roof collapsed.

The woman’s husband had died four months ago. Local people retrieved the woman’s body and rescued the children from under the rubble. The injured — Sania, 5, Sana, 8, Hanni, 9, Amer, 12, and Adil, 16 — were taken to a hospital.—Correspondent
