ISLAMABAD, March 30: The Senate’s Standing Committee on Education, Science and Technology has unanimously felt the need to extend the PhD allowance across the board, so that all doctorate degree holders benefit from it, without any discrimination.

The Committee, which met at the Parliament House, here on Friday, with Senator Razina Alam Khan in the chair, was given a detailed presentation on the kinds of incentives and details of facilities being extended by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to private universities in the country.

The Committee also considered the report of the Sub-Committee, regarding the issue of non-payment of the PhD allowance to college teachers.—Online
