NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, March 30: Kiln workers have threatened to go on strike from March 31, if their demands to increase labour charges for 1,000 bricks from Rs200 to Rs350 and provision of social security cover are not met.

These demands were made at a meeting held on Friday under the aegis of Sindh Kiln Labour Union in village Bakhsho Rind.

The kiln workers complained that their children were not provided education and health facilities and the attitude of kiln owners too, was unacceptable. Though inflation has increased manifolds but they were still being paid the same wages of Rs200 per 1,000 bricks. Organiser, Khalil Rind said a notice was given to owners to accept the demands and if these were not met then hundreds of kiln labourers in Naushahro Feroze, Bhirya and Moro talukas will go on complete strike from March 31.

They demanded of the Sindh government and taluka administration to interfere in the matter and solve their problems.
