LAHORE, Feb 25: The Daewoo City Bus will introduce stage fares on its GTS-Badami Bagh-Yuhannabad route (No 8) on experimental basis from Feb 27 (tomorrow). Flat fare of Rs10 will continue to be charged on other routes.

A fare of Rs5 will be charged for 6-km travel between the GTS stand, Badami Bagh and district courts. The fare for 12-km journey from GTS to Rehmanpura will be Rs8, while Rs10 will be charged for 18-km travel between GTS and Township railway crossing and Rs12 for travel from the GTS to any point beyond railway crossing.

A spokesman for the company said the stage fare was being introduced on one city route for one month on the demand of the Punjab Transport Department. The company would revert to the existing single fare system in April in case the desired results were not achieved.
