Young man shot dead by brother

LAHORE, March 25: A young man was shot dead allegedly by his younger brother over a domestic issue in Hurbanspura on Sunday.

Police said Saleem and Waseem, residents of mohalla Chah Hazaran, Fatehgarh, quarrelled with each other over a domestic issue. Waseem opened fire on Saleem, injuring him critically. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Another young man was gunned down allegedly by rivals over a litigation issue in the Bhati Gate area.

Wali Khan was pursuing a case against Munawwar Husain and Talish Butt.

On Sunday morning, Shahid alias Mana, Heera Chandiwala and Irfan on behalf of Munawwar shot at Wali at his doorstep.

The injured man died while being taken to hospital.

ACCIDENT: A woman was killed in a road accident in Dharampura on Sunday.

Police said a bus (LRT-5902) hit a rickshaw at the post office crossing as a result of which Sobiya Asad, riding the three-wheeler, died instantly.

The police arrested bus driver Ahmad Gul and impounded the vehicle.

ELECTROCUTED: A young electrician was electrocuted in Hanjarwal on Sunday.

Farman Ali, 28, of Samundari was busy doing welding in Azam Garden when he received a shock.

He was taken to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

BODY FOUND: Akbari Gate police found the body of an unidentified man near Masjid Wazir Khan on Sunday.

The police claimed that the man, about 27, seemed to be an addict.

ROBBERIES: Robbers made off with cash, cell phones and valuables in separate incidents here on Sunday.

Two gun-toting men deprived a woman of her purse and a cell phone at Shalimar Chowk.

Two robbers snatched Rs20,000 and a cell phone from a passer-by at P-Block in Model Town, while as many armed men deprived a citizen of cash and a cell phone at the PIA Housing Society in the Sattokatla area.

Two motorcyclists robbed a man of his wallet containing Rs5,000 in cash and a cell phone on Raiwind Road.
