KARACHI: Workshop

KARACHI, March 25: A certificate distribution ceremony for the participants of the US-Pakistan International workshop on Molecular Biology: Tool for the Future was held on the premises of the Jinnah University for Women (JUW). Dr Anwer Nasim, Chairman of the Biotechnology Commission, Islamabad, and adviser Comstech, was the chief guest.

The two-day workshop was conducted by three scholars – Dr Omar Bagasra, Director South Carolina Centre of Biotechnology; Dr Alix G. Darden, Professor of Molecular Biology, the Citadel, South Carolina; and Dr Spencer Benson.

The workshop facilitators from Karachi included Shazia T. Hakim, Dr Shakeel A. Khan and Dr Nusrat Qadeer.

Dr Anwer Nasim, JUW VC Dr Riaz Ahmad Hashmi and some of the 30 participants spoke on the occasion. Shazia Tabassum Hakim delivered note of thanks.—Our Reporter
