SHEIKHUPURA, March 23: The Factory Area police registered on Friday a case against a faith healer and a Christian woman from Nabipur Virkan for desecrating the Holy Quran. Shamim Akhtar approached the healer to give her a talisman for good relations with her husband who had contracted a second marriage.

The healer gave her a talisman and advised her to wrap it in the Hloy Quran’s pages and bury it in the courtyard of her house. The woman torn some pages from the holy book and buried the talisman in the courtyard after wrapping it in the pages. Some pages were found lying outside the woman’s house. The villagers reported the matter to police.

The police took the woman into custody. During preliminary investigation she narrated the story to police. On woman’s disclosure, the so-called spiritual healer was also arrested. — Correspondent
