MIANWALI, March 21: Police have failed to recover a contractor who was kidnapped two days ago for Rs3 million ransom. On Monday evening, contractor Aslam of Jauharabad, Hidayatullah Khan of Marmandi and driver Nasrullah were returning to Musakhel on their pick up when they were intercepted by three masked men.

They forced them at gunpoint towards mountains and snatched Rs50,000, wrist watches, gold ring from Hidayatullah Khan and driver Nasrullah and set them free with a message to pay ransom for the release of Aslam.

Musakhel police registered a case against three people on the complaint of Hidayatullah.

When contacted, Hidayatullah’s father Sher Bahadur Khan, a prominent figure of the area, said the kidnappers have not yet contacted them again.

When asked why the kidnapers released his son, he said in fact they were in hunt of Mr Hashmi, the owner of mineral fields, but instead they kidnapped Aslam.

Mianwali DPO told this correspondent that police were raiding hideouts of criminals and expressed the hope that the kidnappers would be arrested soon.
